Dysport Before and After

I recently went to clinic360 to get Dysport injected into my massader muscle by Dr. Plant. The reason behind this was because, 1. I grind my teeth at night which causes me to have massive headaches and 2. One side of my face looks larger because I have a missing tooth so I tend to chew on one side, making my massader muscle on the right side stronger thus more predominant.

In case you are not sure what Dysport is, it works exactly like Botox, its a neuromuscular blocking toxin.

Dysport has less of a protein load than Botox. Clinically this means that Dysport will result in the formation of fewer antibodies against it. Antibodies are what our bodies use to detect and destroy foreign proteins aka antigens (the injected medications). Hence the assumption is that with fewer antibodies being formed the clinical effects of Dysport should last longer than those of Botox. That being said, some clinical trials indicate that Botox has longer lasting results. In clinical studies, it was noted that Dysport "spreads more" during injection. This is both a good and a bad thing. It is good in that large areas that need injection (forehead, armpits) would require fewer injections due to the spreading. This would mean less likelihood of potential discomfort, swelling or bruising for the patient.

Dysport is also more cost efficient then Botox. =)

The procedure was painless and fast. The results you can see for yourself below. It only took me 3 weeks to see results.

FAQ

How long does it takes to see results? Depending on the person it can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to start seeing results.

How long does it last? Dysport usually lasts from 4-6 months, its different for everyone. In my personal experience I can get a good 8-10 months of results till i see my jawline coming back. However if you keep doing it, the weaker the muscle gets and some even say it will eventually stay that way. I haven't been doing long enough to claim this.

Does it cause any discomfort? No, you might feel a bit weird once it starts working. You will get the sensation that your bite isn't as strong, but besides that I felt nothing.

Did It cause bruising? Nope! if done properly you shouldn't have any issues with this.

WARNING: It is so important that you find someone good to do injections, one small wrong move and you could get some serious nerve damage. This is why you should always go to a doctor or if you are having it done by a nurse you should always have a doctor that consults for the nurse before hand. Injection parties are a big red flag, your home isn't up to the standards for cleanliness. Your doctor should always have the product right in front of you. This way you know that he or she isn't adding anything to the mix! Units usually cost $10-$12 each. If you get a big discount that could also be a red flag!
